President of the Students Representative Council (SRC) at the Ghana School of Law, Nana Opoku Ware, is donating to the legal education pursuit of students at the school after donating GH₵50,000 to the school’s Financial Aid Fund.
This donation follows the recent launch of the "GSL-SRC Scholarship Scheme '26" to ease the financial burden on some students of the school.
Beyond the personal contribution, Nana Opoku Ware’s administration has achieved a milestone in the historic inclusion of law students in the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).
By combining systemic reform with direct financial support, the President is creating a robust safety net that expands the reach of financial aid, ensuring that students without adequate financial resources are no longer left behind in their pursuit of legal education in Ghana.
"The law should not be a luxury for the wealthy, but a calling for the brilliant. This unprecedented contribution is a direct call to action for other resourceful students and stakeholders to invest in the future of the legal profession,” Nana Opoku Ware said.
The donation would serve as an alternative avenue for students to seek financial aid if they are unsuccessful with the student trust fund and other scholarship schemes.
“By bridging the gap for those whose applications were not successfully processed at the SLTF, the donation ensures that financial hardship does not silence the voices of the most brilliant aspiring lawyers,” he said.
The benevolence reinforced a life-long commitment to philanthropy that began with paying fees of his colleagues in his college era and provision of borehole projects in Ejisu.
In March, 2024, Nana Opoku Ware espoused the same generosity and compassion towards his colleague students in KNUST, when he paid school fees of some 27 needy students.
