CEO of Akwaaba UK Dennis Tawiah has revealed that the majority of the patrons who purchased tickets to the Ghana Party in the Park event slated for July 12, have received their refunds.
The event was postponed due to bad weather conditions as communicated by the organisers and has been postponed to August 12.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Mr Tawiah said that about 3000 tickets are being refunded.
According to him, what happened was unfortunate and he together with his team are working hard to get issues solved.
“They do take time and we are letting people know that they will get their refunds. It’s also taking time but refunds are going on. It’s on a first come first served basis.
“Over 3000 people are expecting their refunds. We have sent everyone an email and I can say that about 80% have been refunded,” he revealed.
Even though Mr. Dennis Tawiah admitted how difficult the process was, he maintained faith in his collecting team on how communication and the refund procedure are going so far.
He added that the police commended them for the good job they are doing.
Dennis Tawiah also revealed that after this challenge, he is motivated to shift his attention to the O2 Arena for his next event.
“If we survive this year’s Party in the Park there’s a bigger agenda coming up. O2 Arena! Get ready for us.
"After what we have been through these couple of weeks and with the kind of investment that has gone in, I believe that the Ghana agenda could happen.”
Ghana Party in the Park Festival is an exciting family fun day event that celebrates Ghanaian culture and brings people of all ages and genders together.
This year marks its 19th year since its inception.
