The District Chief Executive (DCE) for North Tongu, Osborne Divine Fenuh, has urged students within the district to continue to be devoted to the country.
Speaking at the 65th Independence Day celebration held in Battor on Sunday, he noted that such a virtue will lead to a successful life.
He stated that it is important not to deviate from the values bequeathed to the current generation by the forefathers.

The theme for this year's celebration is "Working together, bouncing back together."
According to the DCE, the theme is a clarion call on Ghanaians to come together and work towards attaining sustainable economic recovery as a nation.
Touching on indiscipline in schools, he noted that it is worrying to see students indulge in social vices like smoking, stealing and using abusive language on elders.

Mr. Osborne Divine Fenuh, therefore, advised parents and elders in the various communities to collaborate with teachers to instill discipline in their wards.
Meanwhile, the DCE has pledged the North Tongu District Assembly's commitment to making sure that challenges faced by the various communities are resolved.

On his part, the Paramount Chief of Battor Traditional area, Torgbe Dzekle Patamia VI called on all to be united to ensure the progress of the district.

Over 500 school children from both the basic and second cycle institutions participated in the march past.
