One person has died on the spot, with seven others sustaining various degrees of injury in an accident at the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange in Accra on Monday morning.
The accident involved a BMW saloon car with registration number GR 1208-23, a tipper truck with registration number GW 5856-22, and a trotro sprinter with registration number GM 3207-12.
According to Eyewitnesses, the accident was caused by the Tema-bound BMW saloon car which burst a tire, somersaulting severally across the median of the road and crashing into the tipper truck on the Kasoa-bound of the road before landing into a ditch by the road.

Narrating the incident to JoyNews, the driver of the commercial vehicle said, "I was behind the tipper truck coming from the Tetteh-Quarshie Interchange. All of a sudden, I saw the BMW rolling into the middle of the road.
"Because of the dust, I couldn't see anything so I tried to veer to the other side. All of a sudden, I realized the tipper truck pushing my car from the back into the gutter in the middle of the road."
"I took five passengers but nothing happened to them so they took another car and left," he added.
Meanwhile, the tipper truck driver,… also said, all three of his mates have also been rushed to the 37 Military Hospital.
The driver of the BMW car believed to be in his late 20s died on the spot, while another female occupant of the car is currently receiving treatment at the Hospital.

Personnel of the Police Service have helped towed all three vehicles off the road, as they continue to assist in controlling traffic on the road.
In a related development, another accident has occurred on the Kintampo and Babatokuma road.
It also claimed 22 lives.
The deceased include 17 men, four women and one child.
According to reports, 21 persons died on the spot while one person died at the Kintampo Government Hospital.

The Yendi-Kumasi bound bus with registration number AS 4635-22 which had 52 passengers onboard, crashed with a trailer truck with registration number GW 1127 P carrying tiles.
