Global Media Alliance (GMA), a leading marketing communications company in Ghana, has won the International Public Relations Association’s (IPRA) Golden World Award.
African Legends Night, an event organized by Global Media Alliance was awarded in the category in Events Management; for the planning and delivery of a successful event with a PR dimension.
The award scheme, held in Yerevan, Armenia this year, recognized and awarded the most exceptional PR campaigns across the globe.
Programmes Manager of Y107.9FM, Eddy Blay Jr., who picked up the award on behalf of the GMA expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the Golden World Awards for the award.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GMA, Ernest Boateng, was grateful to IPRA for recognizing and awarding outstanding PR campaigns from Ghana and Africa among the winners of the Golden World Awards over the years.
“GMA’s award was based on the astounding planning and implementation of the African Legends Night, an annual event which recognizes and celebrates living African music greats who have put the continent’s music on the global map.
The event has over the years celebrated legends such as the Late Hugh Masekela of South Africa, Femi Kuti of Nigeria, Freddy Meiway of Ivory Coast, Kanda Bongo Man of Congo, Yvonne Chaka Chaka of South Africa, Ghanaian legends Amakye Dede, George Darko, Ben Brako, and Kojo Antwi among others” he added.
Speaking at the event, the IPRA President, Svetlana Stavreva, said the 2019 awards is one of the world’s most diverse, fierce and creative PR competitions, showing how global professionals are setting new standards for meaningful communication.
“A Panel of International Jury from 23 countries shortlisted the finalists online in the first round while another Panel of Judges convened in London to select the eventual winners on a single intensive workday using IPRA’s custom-built GWA system”, she explained.
Some of the PR agencies which received the Golden World Awards include Dentsu Public Relations Inc, Weber Shandwick, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Image Merchants Promotions, Stratcomm Africa, HVDM, Sunny Side-Up, FleishmanHillard and Orta Communications.
Among the popular brands whose campaigns received the awards include Google, Coca Cola, Tetra Pak, HSBC, Siemens, IKEA, McDonald's, Roche Pharmaceutical, Ford, Adidas, Pan American Energy, the University of London and Aramco among others.
