DEPUTY MINISTER of Trade, Industry, Private Sector Development and PSI, Hon. Affram Asiedu, has re-affirmed government’s dedication on effective protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in Ghana. He said government was committed to establishing a sound base for the administration of intellectual property rights. He explained that in the development of Ghana’s trade policy, which encompassed intellectual property-related issues, his “ministry worked together with the Registrar-General Department and the Copyright Office, the two main IPR laws implementing institutions in the country. He said the two institutions made inputs and played key role in drafting both Ghana’s new Trade Policy and the Trade Sector Support Programme (TSSP) and that they had been involved in the implementation of the TSSP as well.
