Despite a weekend where the Independence of Ghana will be the centre of attraction, the Ghana Premier League will also be in full force, with matchday 19 starting on Saturday, March 5.
Real Tamale United will welcome Legon Cities to the Aliu Mahama Stadium, looking to put behind their recent woes. RTU are without a win in their last five games in the league while Legon Cities are unbeaten in four of their last five games.
On Sunday, a local derby will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium with Great Olympics playing as the visitors against Accra Lions. The Wonder Club are looking to close the gap on Asante Kotoko, who occupy the top spot.
At the Dun's Park in Bibiani, Gold Stars and Medeama Sporting Club will lock horns, with all eyes on the maximum points. The earlier fixture between these two ended in a 1-1 statement back in November 2021.
Elmina Sharks travel to Dawu to engage Dreams FC while King Faisal and Aduana Stars also set up a mouth-watering fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Eleven Wonders will play Berekum Chelsea on Monday, March 7, while Kotoko and Hearts will come face to face against Bechem United and WAFA respectively in subsequent days.
Kotoko lead the league table with 40 points, nine above Olympics who are in second position. Wonders, WAFA and Sharks occupy the bottom three positions.
