The maiden edition of the Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup scheduled for Sunday, August 20, has been called off 48 hours to the game.
Plans were in place to have Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics were expected to face off with each other at the Accra Sports Stadium over the weekend as part of celebrations for the Homowo festival.
However, with 48 hours until the game, the organisers have confirmed the fixture has been called off after Olympics have requested to withdraw from the game.

Asked on Joy FM's Game Plan on Friday on the club's decision to withdraw from the game, Saint Osei, who speaks for Olympics said: "It is not taking our fans for granted. We have 48 hours to the match day."
"There is ample time for anyone who has something doing to return to do it."
The Homowo Cup has not been played in the last two years due to similar actions from at least one of the two teams.
