Alhaji Bature, editor of the Blingual Free Press has said he is not a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, he worked for NDC to come to power in 2008 but has refused to be a member because of the indiscipline creeping into the party.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Alhaji Bature noted that people who claim to be members of the party publicly make unguarded statements about President Mills and Vice President John Mahama without being called to order by the National Executives of the party.
He added that what is happening in the NDC will serve as a campaign weapon for the opposition and it would cause their defeat in 2012.
“The NPP is tabulating everything and will use it against you in 2012” By the time you unite for the 2012 elections, it would be too late”.
He said if the party wants to retain power in the 2012 elections it has to do away with the power struggle which threatens to break its ranks.
He took a swipe at Joseph Yamin, Secretary of the NDC in the Ashanti Region who accused him in the 22nd November, 2010 edition of the Daily Guide newspaper, of speaking ill against former President Rawlings. Mr. Yamin is reported to have asked the National Executives of the party to call Mr. Bature to order.
But Mr. Bature said he has never appeared on any programme as a representative of the NDC but has the right to analyze what happens in NDC and NPP as an individual and therefore the National Executives of the NDC can not take any action against him.
Alhaji Bature urged President Mills to continuously advice party members on the need for unity in securing massive victory in 2012.
