Gospel musician Jak Alolome has stated that his decision to do a campaign song for the NDC’s Presidential Candidate, John Mahama, is not monetary.
He told Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z that he did the song 'JM Begye Yen' out of his free will to support the ideals of Mahama.
“Nobody has given me any money,” he said.
He, however, noted that wouldn’t reject any form of appreciation that comes with the release of the song.
“I thought about the country first before doing the song. If anything comes later, Praise God. If that doesn’t happen too, all I am concerned about is to help rescue the country from the hands of the NPP," he explained.
Other musicians that have over the years composed songs for the NDC are Nacee, Wayoosi, Mr. Beautiful, Jewel Ackah, among others.
Big Akwes, Christiana Awuni, Mercy Asiedu and Kofi Okyere Darko are among the some of the people in the entertainment fraternity who have publicly endorsed the NDC.
The National Democratic Congress has announced policies such as the 24-hour economy which aims to help boost Ghana's economy.
For the creative arts sector, the NDC intends to create and promote ‘The Black Star Experience’ as Ghana’s flagship Culture, Arts and Tourism brand to make Ghana a preferred tourism destination. The Black Star Experience will undertake a year-round celebration in all the major entertainment, artistic and educational disciplines.
The party also has plans to support young digital content creators in developing content that promotes Ghanaian culture, revive the creative arts fund to provide sustainable financial support for start-ups and ailing large, medium and small creative enterprises, review and strictly enforce broadcasting, digital and local content provisions to stimulate local artistic productions, facilitate, enforce and enhance the collection and management system for copyrights and royalties in Ghana, among others.
