Gospel songstress Evangelist Diana Asamoah has confessed that contrary to public perception about her, she would not play a holier-than-thou attitude by pretending that she is a 'virgin'. The golden-voiced gospel composer recently hinted that she actually completed Middle School Form four (standard 7) before she got to know a man. She further revealed that even though she had won 11 big-time awards outside the country, she couldn’t get a single award in Ghana simply because local organizers usually wanted her to pay monies before she gets that recognition, which she and her producer were not ready to do. According to her, she went wayward a bit in life adding that it was just the Grace of God that had brought her out of that kind of life. She stressed that looking back at her past, she could say if she had not come out of that ‘immoral life’, she would have by now given birth to so many children with different fathers. Diana who celebrated her tenth year in the gospel music industry this year in Sunyani, made this revelation on Delaris Frimpong-Manso’s programme, Delay on TV3. She was however grateful to God for bringing her this far. The lady evangelist started her gospel career from humble beginnings, saying she joined the industry in 1999 with the help of Rev. Simon Yaw Boama, and she has since not looked back. Apart from her gospel music, she also works with two Kumasi-based radio stations, Angel Fm and Light Fm, as a preacher. She has so far received 11 awards outside the country, saying she is not disturbed even though she has not received any award from Ghana. “I am not disturbed in any way at all because I have not won any award in Ghana; after all, I have not won any award from Ghana because my producer, Mr. Anane Frimpong of Frimprince Music Production, has refused to pay monies demanded by some organizers who have been calling him to pay something so that I could win an award. I think it’s a good thing my producer is doing,” she disclosed. The albums released so far by the gospel diva include ‘Woma Mani Agyina’, ‘Mabo’, ‘Akoko Aban’, ‘Madanse Die’, ‘Pentecost Gya’ and ‘Gospel Old Tunes’. Source: News-One
