Former Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng was pictured crying following the relegation of Hertha Berlin from the German Bundesliga over the weekend.
The Ghanaian's boyhood club's drop to the Bundesliga 2 was confirmed after their 1-1 draw against Bochum at home on Saturday.
Boateng, who started the game against Bochum, enjoyed 64 minutes of the game with the bid to help his side until the final of the season with the aim of surviving relegation.
However, that was far from being achieved as they settled for a stalemate, confirming their relegation.
The 36-year-old was left emotional by the relegation of Hertha Berlin to Germany's second tier.
"I can't realize it yet,” Boateng told reported after the game. "It is just bitter, I love this club. I came here and I knew that not everything would be rosy. The fans are angry, disappointed and sad, that is completely normal.
“I can understand them, I am a Hertha fan myself."
