Ghanaian prodigy David Oduro says he is happy to have caught the attention of Barcelona ahead of commencing his career with the Spanish side.
Oduro signed for Barcelona in the summer from Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions. He signs a deal with the Blaugrana club until 2027.
The 18-year-old was one of Lions' best performers in the Ghanaian top flight last season. His performances led to him enjoying trials at Chelsea and Barcelona before the latter eventually signed him.
Asked about how he feels about the journey ahead, the youngster said in an interview with Sporty TV, "I am very happy because getting this opportunity is not easy especially coming from Ghana."
"For me, I am very happy. It's history for Ghana. Being the first player to move from here straight to Barcelona is great news for Ghana."
Oduro is one of two Ghanaians to have joined the La Liga outfit with the other being Abdul Aziz Issah who joins on loan from Dreams FC.
The two players will begin their careers at Barcelona with Barca Athletic.
