It looks like President Obama may be enlisting the help of none other than Jay-Z to campaign for him during the 2012 election, according to the New York Post.
"I can't believe you've finally heard the chatter about him replacing [National Economic Council director] Larry Summers," Deputy White House Press Secretary William Burton joked with the Post.
Burton added, "In all seriousness, keep in mind he was pretty active during the 2008 election, so I don't think it'd surprise anyone that he would be involved again. But it's a little premature."
During the 2008 election, the hip hop star held free shows to encourage people to register to vote. He also performed in front of images of Obama on his “Heart of the City” tour with Mary J. Blige, and hosted a concert on the eve of Obama’s inauguration.
Meanwhile, Obama has been seen seemingly supporting Jay-Z right back, such as when he “brushed his shoulders off” while campaigning in 2008, and telling the rapper in the closing days of the presidential race, "We need to end this game Jordan-style."
