Former Black Stars Footballer, John Paintsil, who runs the John Paintsil Football Academy (JPFA), has presented a jersey to the Chief Executive Officer of the Bui Power Authority (BPA), Samuel Kofi Dzamesi.
The presentation, at a short ceremony at the Head Office of the BPA in Accra on Thursday, December 15, 2022, was a symbol of the collaboration between BPA and John Paintsil Football Academy.
Presenting the framed jersey, John Paintsil said he was grateful for the opportunity given to him by the BPA CEO to scout, train, and develop sporting talents within the Bui enclave.
In his response, Kofi Dzamesi thanked John Paintsil and his academy for their partnership. He mentioned that he enjoyed watching him play his professional football in Israel and many other countries and, was therefore, confident about his professionalism and ability to develop and instill discipline in the sporting talents being unearthed.

He explained that, since he assumed office as the CEO of BPA, he noticed the mass of football talents that exist within and around the Bui Generating Station, hence the need for the partnership with the Academy through the BPA Talent Development he initiated to unearth sporting talents.
He revealed that the Authority has signed a contract with a developer to construct an AstroTurf at the Bui enclave so that the communities can have a better field to play.
About BPA Talent Development
The BPA Talent Development forms part of the Authority’s corporate social responsibility and a long-term vision of the CEO to develop the sporting talents of the youth within the Bui Generating Station enclave, with emphasis on football as part of measures to promote human resource development as well as improve the socio-economic wellbeing of the project affected persons.
In that regard, the Authority signed a partnership earlier this year with John Paintsil Football Academy for which five footballers after a competitive football gala were selected from the Bui Generating Station catchment area to be trained at the JPFA for a year, fully funded by BPA.
The week-long gala climaxed with some ex-Black Stars players, including John Paintsil, Isaac Vorsah, Peter Ofori Quaye, Kofi Amponsah, Dan Quaye, Patrick Villars, and former Black Queens goalkeeper, Memunatu Sulemana, playing in a ceremonial match against a select side from the competition.
