MTN Ghana’s Josephine Jacaboba Amoah, Project Coordinator for Managed Data Network Service, has won the Project Manager of the Year for her exceptional leadership at the recent Project Management Excellence Awards organised by the Project Management Institute Ghana Chapter (PMI).
Her award was in recognition of her support for the transitioning of Bayobab’s (formerly Global Connect) Global Network Operation Center (GNOC) Transition and Service Operation Center (SOC) from India to Ghana.
This project also earned MTN Ghana the Telecom Project of the Year award.
The Project Management Excellence Awards celebrate the contributions of exceptional project leaders across the country.
The event, which is the 6th edition was held at the Rock City Hotel in Kwahu- Nkwatia in the Eastern Region.

Ms Amoah is a distinguished Project Manager with over 17 years of exemplary project management experience in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Telecommunications sectors.
She has played pivotal technical roles in ICT/telecommunications projects for leading ICT multinationals in Ghana, including Tigo (now AT), Vodafone (now Telecel) under Huawei Managed Services, and MTN Ghana.

Renowned for leading and executing transformational projects, she consistently drives successful project outcomes and enhances operational efficiencies, delivering significant value to stakeholders.
Currently a Project Manager at MTN Ghana, she has successfully led the delivery of strategic multi-million-dollar projects to enterprise customers. Key projects she has delivered include establishing Wide Area Networks for GCB Bank Ltd, FNB Bank, GT Bank, and the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), among others.
She also managed the Bayobab Global Network Operation Center (GNOC) Transition and the Service Operation Center (SOC) establishment Project in Ghana.
Her leadership and initiative have improved MTN’s Managed Data Network Services (MDNS) project delivery by 80%, demonstrating her exceptional contributions and lasting impact on the company.
Josephine is passionate about process improvement, as manifested in her proactive approach to identifying bottlenecks, analysing workflows, and implementing changes that result in positive project outcomes.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and an MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Italy.
She is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
