An Accra Circuit Court has remanded the key suspect arrested in connection with a daylight robbery at a jewellery shop at Adabraka in 2024.
The suspect, Salim Mohammed, also known as Fariwata, is alleged to have participated in the robbery in which GH₵7.5 million proceeds from a gold transaction, was stolen while being conveyed to a bank on November 2, 2024.
Mohammed, 26, unemployed, was arrested on November 20, 2025, at a hospital in Ashaiman, where he had gone to seek medical attention, following months of intelligence-led surveillance by the Police.
The prosecution said Mohammed allegedly committed the crime together with six other accomplices, who are currently at large.
His plea was preserved, and he has been charged with conspiracy to commit crime, to wit robbery, and robbery.
The Court adjourned the case to January 13, 2026.
Prosecution informed the Court that investigations were ongoing to arrest the remaining suspects.
