Students at the Kumasi Technical Institute are calling for the removal of the principal, Joseph Abeiku Appreh for alleged non-performance.
They allege that the principal has unilaterally increased fees and also charged them fees for a supposed open day ceremony, but only invited a pastor to advise them without refreshment.
The students also blame Mr. Appreh for the school’s exit from the on-going Inter-School and College Athletics competition in Kumasi.
The demonstrating students besieged the premises of Nhyira FM to register their displeasure at Mr. Appreh, who has allegedly been billing students for school uniforms they had already paid for.
Other allegations against the principal include neglect of the deteriorating equipment for academic work in the school, refusal to release money for athletes to train and consistent absenteeism.
Several attempts to get the reaction of the principal have been unsuccessful because of official commitments.
