Kumawu MP, Ernest Yaw Anim has assured Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the support of delegates within the constituency ahead of the party's primaries.
Mr Yaw Anim said the Kumawu delegates do not make mistakes when selecting their candidates.
According to him, the delegates always make the right choice for the party.
Addressing a gathering during Dr Bawumia’s visit to the constituency, the recently sworn in MP said the delegates will vote for the Vice President as they did for him to become their lawmaker.
He thus assured Dr Bawumia of a win.

“Just as you delegates saw the right qualities in me and recently made me your MP, I know the delegates of Kumawu see the great qualities in Dr Bawumia and will vote for massively for him,” he stressed.
Vice President, Dr Bawumia has also said he is the best candidate to win the next election for the NPP.
According to him, per the sacrifices he has made for the party, he deserves a chance to succeed President Akufo-Addo and help the party “break the 8.”
Dr Bawumia said when the party needed a witness for the 2012 general election petition; those contesting for the position today, gave excuses but he did not.
Speaking to delegates in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, July 6, Dr Bawumia said he put his political career on the line for the NPP, which led to the party’s victory in 2016.
“Most of our members were giving excuses when the party was in need of a witness for the 2012 general election petition at the Supreme Court. I sacrificed my political career for the party, knowing very well the implications ahead if I don’t deliver well in court.”
“The excuses were many, some claimed they were travelling and all that because they were scared to put their political career on the line, but I stood my ground. I’m the best person to lead the party,” Dr Bawumia added.
However, followers of Dr Bawumia’s close contender, Alan Kwadwao Kyerematen, believe it is the turn of their candidate since he has equally made some sacrifices for the party.
They argue that he has been in line for the position for a long time after contesting former President Kufour and President Akufo-Addo.
The NPP will elect its flagbearer for the 2024 elections on November 4.
So far, 10 aspirants have been vetted by the party’s Vetting Committee chaired by former Speaker of Parliament, Prof Mike Oquaye.
The Committee will submit its report to the National Council through the General Secretary today, Monday, July 10.
