Labadi Beach Hotel presents ¢10m dividend to SSNIT

Ghana’s premier 5-Star Hotel, Labadi Beach Hotel has presented a dividend of ¢10 million for the year 2021 to its sole shareholder, the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

This achievement is unprecedented in the history of the company.

Since its inception in 1991, the hotel has led Ghana’s hospitality industry, providing exceptional services to its cherished guests, and thus contributing immensely to the tourism sector and by extension the economy of Ghana.

Commenting on the spectacular achievement by the hotel, Professor Douglas Boateng, Interim Board Chairman said “we owe this achievement to the staff of Labadi Beach Hotel. Despite all the challenges, they were able to deliver customer driven service quality, enabling both local and international clients to patronize the hotel”.

“Without question, with our supervisory support coupled with strict governance principles, this performance is going to continue because they are determined to prove that if the Ghanaian is given the opportunity they can equally deliver for the shareholder and the society as a whole”, he concluded.

Speaking to the press during the presentation of the dividend to SSNIT, Ag. Managing Director of the Hotel, David Eduaful said ‘the success story of this indigenous brand can be attributed to its innovative approach, an adaptation of the highest standards of operation and service delivery through its dedicated and most passionate staff who go the extra mile to exceed the expectations of customers’.

He further stated that, “Labadi Beach Hotel being a proud Ghanaian entity has defined itself as providing luxury and premium services. It has proven itself over the years as Ghana’s premium 5-star brand that provides purposeful and meaningful services, amenities and environments. These attributes are designed to assist our guests in achieving their personal goals while advancing their ambitions without disruption whether they are on business or leisure stay with us’’.

He stressed that despite the current global economic and financial challenges occasioned by the corona virus pandemic and with competition becoming fierce, Labadi Beach Hotel as part of its  growth and expansion plans is to invest in the human capital of the hotel to be able and readily respond to the demands of today’s guest.

“Labadi Beach Hotel is indeed an establishment which goes beyond its core mandate to create a family and a socially responsible member of the community we serve. This has seen the hotel embarked on a noble project of sponsoring the cost of surgery for one hole in heart patient every year through our partnership with the Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana organisation. Our partnership with the Street Academy Ghana to provide food for over 100 street children every Friday has been a great delight. We have since 1998 taken pleasure in organising Christmas and New Year parties for 150 cured lepers at the Christ the King Parish in Accra and the Weija Leprosarium”, he added.

‘’In the area of education, we are proud to have churned out professionals of whom some are doctors, lawyers, accountants, entrepreneurs, etc. through our educational scholarship scheme, instituted to benefit children of our hardworking staff.”David Eduaful observed.

Set amidst tropical landscaped gardens, adjacent to one of Ghana’s most popular beaches in the country’s central business district, the hotel caters for the business and leisure traveler.

The hotel which started with 104 rooms in 1991 can now boast of 164 rooms including two Presidential Suites, four Executive Suites, four Superior Suites, five Bars, two restaurants, a 900-seater multi-purpose conference and banqueting facilities, a spa with plunge pool, well equipped gym, lagoon for fishing, two plush Leisure and lap pools on a sprawling tropical landscaped garden overlooking the natural Maale Lagoon.
