The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and acting Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has arrived in South Africa to take part in the 2026 African Mining Indaba Conference.
In a statement issued on Sunday, February 8, the Ministry said the Minister arrived earlier in the day to attend the annual event, which is regarded as Africa’s largest mining investment and policy forum.
The African Mining Indaba brings together African governments, global mining companies, investors, and regulators to discuss policy direction, attract investment, and promote responsible and sustainable mineral development across the continent.
Leading Ghana’s delegation to the conference, Mr Armah-Kofi Buah is expected to take part in a series of high-level meetings and strategic engagements. According to the release, he will also contribute to wider discussions on “key challenges confronting the mining industry”.
A major highlight of Ghana’s participation will be the ‘Ghana Day’ event, scheduled for Wednesday, 11 February 2026. The statement said the Lands Minister will headline the event, which is expected to draw strong interest from international investors.
“As Africa’s leading gold producer, this event will provide a platform to showcase Ghana’s business potential to investors and deepen interest in its extractive sector,” the release noted.
The Ministry said Ghana’s presence at the 2026 African Mining Indaba aligns with the vision of President John Mahama to strengthen the mining sector through global partnerships and targeted investment initiatives.
It added that the government remains committed to using international platforms such as the Indaba to position Ghana as a preferred destination for responsible mining investment while promoting sustainable use of the country’s mineral resources.
