Two persons lost their lives with 4 others sustaining severe injuries at the hands of security operatives during a protest by youth of Ejura Sekyedumase on Tuesday June, 29.
The youth were demanding justice for an activist, Ibrahim “Kaaka” Mohammed who was slain two days earlier.
President Akufo-Addo consequently directed the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery to institute a public inquiry into the issue.
The Three- Member Committee set up by the Ministry for the Interior commenced public hearing today. The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah and Multimedia journalist, Erastus Asare Donkor took turns to answer questions from committee members.
To register their displeasure on the “growing levels of insecurity, lawlessness, and impunity under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government”, the youth wing of the National Democratic Congress today petitioned President Akufo-Addo.
Tonight, JoyNews' Evans Mensah hosted the following guests; Deputy General Secretary of NDC, Peter Boamah Otukunor, Security and Safety Expert, Adam Bonaa, and Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George on PM Express.
They'll discuss today's 'March for Justice and Ejura public inquiry' at 9.00 pm
