Presidential nominee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama says he has received a copy of the party’s 2020 manifesto.
“This document, The People’s Manifesto, will represent the NDC and my social contract with the good people of Ghana,” Mahama wrote on Facebook Wednesday.
The Republic Day announcement comes eight months after the NDC opened its doors to the public, calling for manifesto suggestions.
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) quickly took a swipe at the NDC for its move.
“Having set up a manifesto committee, their first model of business is to ask 30 million Ghanaians to think for them,” Buaben Asamoa said while addressing a press conference.
“I think perhaps we should help them because they are very confused. Even with all the time on their hands in opposition, they can’t find ideas to generate a manifesto that is capable of managing the affair of this country by choice” he added.

However, the NDC justified its decision saying it wants the manifesto to represent the desires and wishes of the people.
Expressing gratitude to the public for their contributions, Mahama wrote: I thank you all for your contributions to the compilation, and as I have promised.

“I look forward to the Policy Dialogue Series through which I will be sharing details of the various sectors and themes of the manifesto.”
