Members of the governing NDC appear to favour Kennedy Ohene Agyapong over former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the opposition NPP’s Flagbearer for the 2028 elections, according to new findings by Global InfoAnalytics.
In its latest social media poll, the research organisation reported that a majority of NDC respondents did not want Dr Bawumia to emerge as the NPP’s presidential candidate.
Sharing the findings in a Facebook post, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Musa Dankwa, wrote: “The social media poll shows majority of NDC voters and floating voters now prefer Hon. Kennedy Agyapong to Dr Bawumia, contrary to previous polling data.”

According to the results, nearly 40% of NDC respondents said they preferred Kennedy Agyapong as the NPP’s 2028 flagbearer, compared with 33% for Dr Bawumia and 14% for Kwabena Agyapong.
Interestingly, respondents who identified as floating voters expressed similar preferences: 38% opted for Kennedy Agyapong, while 32% chose Dr Bawumia.
This poll is the only recent survey by Global InfoAnalytics in which Kennedy Agyapong has placed ahead of Dr Bawumia, raising eyebrows—especially among NPP supporters, who question why a majority of NDC members would prefer the NPP to elect a particular candidate as its Flagbearer.
