Twenty-six-year-old Eric Asamoah has been arrested by the Police in the Central Region for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old boy in Mankessim.
With the assistance of the victim's father, the suspect was tracked down and arrested on November 3, 2025, and detained for investigation, the Police said in a statement on Wednesday.
The boy has since been sent to the Saltpond Municipal Hospital, where he is responding to treatment.
According to the Police, the accused person admitted to the crime during interrogation and had been charged with defilement.
He would be arraigned before Circuit Court II in Cape Coast on Thursday, November 6, 2025, for prosecution.
“The Command would like to use this opportunity to assure the general public that due process of the law will be adhered to bring justice to the boy,” the statement said.
