The National Democratic Congress’ Women’s Wing in the Volta Region today made a donation of sanitary pads and locally produced reusable pads to the female students of Keta Senior High Technical School in the Volta Region.
This donation exercise was led by the NDC Regional Women’s Organizer, Fafa Agbai. In her speech, she spoke on the theme for this year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day ‘Making Menstruation a normal fact of life by 2023’
She highlighted on the importance of proper menstrual hygiene practices such as using clean and safe menstrual products, maintaining personal hygiene and managing menstrual discomfort effectively.

Madam Fafa Agbai advocated for improved access to menstrual products, knowledge about the body, menstruation tips and reproductive health.
"It's very important to have improved access to menstrual products, knowledge about your bodies as girls and your reproductive health," Mad. Fafa Agbai said.
The representative of the senior house mistress, who doubles as a biology mistress in the school, Ms. Testimony Agbetum, took the opportunity to educate the students on ‘what menstruation is, importance of menstrual hygiene education’ etc

The NDC Afadzato Constituency Women’s Organiser, Ms.Vida Zogli, took turns to teach the students on how to use the reusable pad.
She made mention that; the reusable pads are locally produced in Afadzato and can be used for one and half years.
"You only need to wash the pads and reuse them after drying them well. And also the reusable pads should be well kept," she said.

Ms. Pearl Apreku, the 1st Senior Prefect in the history of the school was honoured by Fafa Agbai, RWO. She was advised to work hard to raise the image of the school and also serve as role model for other females.
In attendance to this august occasion were the NDC Volta Regional Organisers, NDC Constituency Women Organisers, some Keta Constituency Executives led by the Chairman, Staff of KETASCO.
The women’s wing is grateful to Prof. Nana Opoku Agyemang, NDC Presidential Running Mate,2020, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa , MP, North Tongu and Madam Xoese Glymin, an old student of KETASCO for their wonderful support.
