The Minister of Transport, Mr Mike Hammah, has urged Ghanaians to learn to sacrifice in their various endeavours towards accelerated development of the nation as Jesus Christ did and died for mankind. He said in the quest to ensure national development, it behoved Ghanaians to serve in their various capacities with selflessness and dedication to increase productivity. Mr Hammah, who is also Member of Parliament for Effutu, was addressing members of the Reformed Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Ghana, to round off their four-day Easter Convention in Winneba, on Sunday. He said God loved man that was why he sent his only son to be stoned and die for the sins of man. He in this regard urged Christians to emulate Christ. Mr Hammah said it was by divine intervention that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) re-captured political power in the December 2008 general elections and promised that the government would work hard to improve the living standards of the people. He used the occasion to appeal to drivers to ensure that their vehicles were road worthy before they embark on their journeys and urged them to exercise the maximum patience and tolerance on the roads. In this regard, the Minister advised the Police Service to intensify their checks on drivers. Earlier in a sermon, an Evangelist from Betinko in the Nkawie District, Emmanuel Appiah-Kubi, advised Christians to be obedient to the word of God in order to see a break-through in their lives. He reminded Christians that going to church alone would not save them but it was their lifestyle, which would justify them to enter God’s Kingdom. Evangelist Appiah-Kubi said it took people with renewed hearts to inherit the Kingdom of God and asked Christians to repent from their sins. He cautioned those who continued to wallow in sin to stop since they did not know when they would depart from this world and get themselves prepared for the second coming of Christ. Source: GNA
