Niger on Tuesday welcomed the UN Security Council's adoption of Resolution 2797.
The Resolution recognises, within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty, the Kingdom's proposed autonomy plan as a serious, credible, and lasting basis for resolving the Moroccan Sahara issue.
The position was expressed by Bakary Yaou Sangaré, Niger’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad, following his discussions with Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.
The talks took place on the sidelines of the Conference on African Victims of Terrorism, held in Rabat from December 2 to 3.
