Telecommunication giant, MTN Ghana, has donated cash and some assorted items to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, as Muslims prepare to mark this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebration.
The action is intended to support the Chief Imam in carrying out his social and spiritual duties during the holy month of Ramadan.
MTN Ghana presented a cheque of ¢15,000 to the Chief Imam plus a big ram and airtime worth ¢2,000.
Other items donated include 15 bags of rice, 10 cartons of vegetable oil, 40 packs of mineral water, 15 packs of soft drinks, 10 trays of tin milk, four boxes of milo,five bags of sugar, and two boxes of teabags.
General Manager of Regional Sales who led the team, Mohammed Abubakar, said the donation is an affirmation of his outfit’s appreciation to the Chief Imam and the Muslim community for the support, patronage and loyalty to MTN.
“We know he is the father of all as the occasion of the Eid approaches. We see so many people who might come here to partake in the feast, so we are here to also support the Muslim community through the National Chief Imam. Our donations across the country also goes to affirm our appreciations to your support, patronage and loyalty to MTN”.

He further charged the Muslim community to be measured in their celebrations for peaceful Eid festivity.
“As we celebrate, we all need to be cautious. Life is very important and Islam teaches us to be moderate in everything we do. So, let’s make sure that we will not do anything untoward to harm our neighbors and friends”.
Mohammed Abubakar revealed that MTN will create an avenue for customers to access their services during the celebration and urge its customers to register their SIM cards to prevent falling victim.
“In all the Eid grounds, we will have our staff pitch camp there to provide services across. MTN will bring our services to all. Now the NIA has released a lot of cards across, so if you receive yours, please do well to go and register your SIM cards”.

On behave of the Chief Imam, Spokesperson Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for the kind gesture and prayed for God’s blessings for the telecom giant to expand.
“We are grateful to you and for the respect you accord to the chief Imam. We are praying that Allah will bless your company, let it flourish and get God’s protection. Let’s also hope that we live together and see another year, when we shall meet here and continue with the tradition that you have established. May God bless you and bless our homeland Ghana”.
Meanwhile, MTN Ghana had made similar donations to Regional Chief Imams in Ashanti, Western and Northern regions.
