Nigerian Breakthrough rapper, Mr Incredible, popular known as M.I has confirmed that he will be attending the second edition of 4syte Music Video Awards slated for the Accra International Conference Centre on November 20.
According to the organizers of the award ceremony, the confirmation was made through the rapper’s manager, Lola Adamson. M.I has been nominated for the Best African Act category in the upcoming ceremony.
In 2006, M.I was signed on the Chocolate City Music and released Crowd Mentality which was a groundbreaking both commercially and reception as it was one of the few rap songs that both men and women could relate to.
The video itself was described as “a breath of fresh air” by Soundcity TV and went on to win Best Rap Single at the Hip Hop World Awards in 2008.
Between 2007 and 2008 MI was selected to represent Nigeria in the Bring the Noise World tour which took him and 9 other participants to 10 countries in and around Africa and Europe and exposed the Hip Hop poet to several styles, cultures and musical rhythms which he aptly captured in his classic debut album “Talk About It”.
The album which was released on the December 11, 2008 had 18 tracks produced by Jesse Jagz (his brother) and himself. It was also the launch pad for the careers of (then unknown) artistes like Wizkid, YQ, Pype, and others. ‘Talk about it’ was a sell out that won the rapper over 18 awards and several more nominations.
M.I is a proficient producer, lyricist, songwriter and instrumentalist who had performed on several platforms across the globe.
Although it is not clear whether he would be performing at the 4syte Music Video Awards, this would be his first major public appearance in Ghana and certainly his fans in Ghana would be looking forward to seeing him.
