The National Lottery Authority (NLA), through its Good Causes Foundation, has donated GH₵100,000 to support victims of the recent tidal waves that struck coastal communities in the Volta Region.

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, who received the donation, described the gesture as timely and deeply appreciated, adding that the NLA is among the first institutions to respond to their appeal for assistance.

The funds will be used to provide emergency relief, including shelter, food, and clothing, for displaced families in Agavedzi, Asalakope, and Amutsinu.

The donation forms part of broader efforts to contain the destruction caused by the tidal surge and to restore dignity and stability to affected households.

Mr Gunu conveyed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the people of the Volta Region to the NLA and its Director-General, Mr Mohammed Abdul-Salam, for what he termed a commendable act of national service.
