Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo, NMC Chairman.

The Chairman of the National Media Commission, Yaw Buadu Ayeboafo, granted an interview to JOYNews on the alleged killing of a 10-year-old boy at Kasoa.

The two teenagers alleged to have killed the boy have been charged. In the charge sheet, the police linked the murder of the boy to a TV commercial the suspects reportedly saw.

In the interview, Mr. Ayeboafo indicated that “to impute that a heinous crime as this, merely to the fact that somebody watched television. I think that it’s too far-fetched. But the issue is that we all have to be concerned about some of the things we watch. But to put it on the charge sheet that this is the reason why they did that I think that this is a very lazy investigation.

He also spoke about the NMC’s limited power to regulate certain broadcasts and inability of Parliament to pass the Broadcasting Bill into law . The full sound is attached.
