Former Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Osei Kwaku Palmer, says the Black Queens could suffer from Nora Hauptle's exit as head coach of the side.
Having booked a place for Ghana at the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, the Swiss trainer parted ways with the GFA following the expiration of her contract and has since been appointed as the gaffer of the Zambia women's national team.
While Nora's social media page hinted at a lack of preparatory matches for the Black Queens as part of her reasons for leaving, the FA revealed she left due to monetary reasons.
Speaking to Joy Sports, Palmer believes the association could have done enough to ensure the 41-year-old stayed on until at least after the tournament to be staged in Morocco.
"If it had to do with monetary issues, the question you have to ask is 'were they not available funds to ensure that Nora Hauptle was paid for the WAFCON to be completed before they can part ways?' he quizzed.
"If that was not done and they have parted ways before the tournament then that should tell you that we are not going to get the needed results as expected of the team. Nora had transformed the team up to her taste and changing the baton as at now will not be to the benefit of the Black Queens."
The FA, on Tuesday, January 14, announced a replacement for Nora with Swedish trainer Kim Lars Bjorkegren coming to be assisted by Sampson Charles and Anita Wiredu.
