The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has announced the timelines for the party’s branch and regional executive elections as part of its nationwide reorganisation exercise.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, Mr Kodua Frimpong said the exercise is aimed at strengthening the party’s internal structures ahead of future political engagements.
According to him, the branch election processes — including the opening and closing of nominations, vetting, appeals, data entry and validation of the party album — will run from 15 July to 9 August 2026.
He stressed that all processes are expected to be completed within the stipulated period to ensure a smooth transition to the next phase of the party’s internal elections.
“Branch elections shall be between branch opening and closing of nominations, vetting, appeals, data entry and validation of album from 15 July to 9 August 2026,” he stated.
Mr Kodua Frimpong further announced that nominations for regional executive positions will open from 15 July to 17 July 2026, with vetting scheduled for 20 July to 23 July.
He added that the appeals process will take place from 24 July to 30 July, while notices of poll will be issued between 27 July and 30 July 2026.
The elections of regional executive officers are scheduled for 8 and 9 August 2026, followed by data entry and validation of results from 10 August to 23 August.
The NPP’s reorganisation exercise forms part of its internal democratic processes aimed at restructuring its grassroots and regional leadership to improve efficiency and enhance party cohesion.
Party officials say the process is crucial to strengthening the party’s organisational capacity and positioning it for upcoming national political activities.
