Spokesperson for the John Mahama campaign team, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has criticized the current administration, accusing it of inefficiency and excessive waste in governance.
Mrs. Mogtari highlighted what she described as misplaced spending priorities, referencing the government’s allocation of $58 million for a National Cathedral that is yet to be constructed.
Speaking on JoyNews' AM Show on December 10, she also pointed to the allocation of $11.8 million for preparatory work on the Pwalugu Dam.
She suggested that this project, which she claims has seen minimal progress, is a key reason for the NDC’s strong performance in the Northern, Upper East, and Upper West regions during the general elections.
"According to former vice president Dr Bawumia, They could afford $11.8 million for preparatory work towards the construction of the Pwalugu Dam, and that dam alone is one of the reasons I have enjoyed our performance in the Northern, Upper East, and Upper West.”
Bawa Mogtari also accused Dr Bawumia of lying to the public, asking, "Where is the $11.8 million? They told us it was used for the preparatory work."
Further criticising the current government, Mrs Mogtari shared her disappointment regarding the failure of the Power Distribution Services (PDS) project, citing family feuds as a contributing factor.
"President-elect John Dramani Mahama was at the State Department in the US, and it was very disappointing to hear how PDS failed because of family feuds," she said.
She added that "these are some of the reasons we are happy to see the back of this administration."
