The Ashanti Regional qualifiers for the 2025 NSMQ began today with Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) edging out three other schools in a highly competitive opening contest.
KUMACA secured the win with 40 points, beating Sakafia Islamic SHS, who came second with 32 points. Okomfo Anokye SHS followed closely with 29 points, while Obuasi Senior High Technical School placed fourth with 28 points.

While Kumaca is yet to win a zonal championship in the Ashanti Region, the school has built a reputation as a strong and consistent performer in the NSMQ qualifiers.
Today’s win adds to their growing momentum and positions them as one of the teams to watch as the regional contests progress.

This year’s regional qualifiers span six days and feature 88 senior high schools competing in 22 contests. Schools are not only vying for a place in the national championship but are also eager to uphold regional pride in one of the competition’s fiercest zones.
