The organisers of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), Primetime Limited, have once again postponed the regional qualifiers for the 2026 competition, citing circumstances beyond their control.
In a post on Thursday, July 9, the organisers apologised for the latest delay and assured participating schools and stakeholders that a new schedule would be communicated soon.
"Due to circumstances beyond our control, the #RegionalQualifiers has been postponed. We appreciate your understanding and continued support. A new schedule will be announced soon," the post said.
The latest postponement comes just days after Primetime Limited revised the timetable for the competition, moving the start of the regional qualifiers from Monday, July 6, to Thursday, July 9, 2026.

In an earlier letter addressed to the National President of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), the organisers explained that the initial rescheduling had also been necessitated by circumstances beyond their control.
The revised timetable particularly affected participating schools in the Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Western and Western North regions, which were originally scheduled to begin their contests on July 6.
Primetime Limited had urged CHASS to communicate the revised dates to its regional executives and all participating schools while assuring stakeholders that every effort would be made to ensure the competition proceeded smoothly under the new schedule.
"We assure you that we shall do all within our power to ensure the prompt and smooth running of the competition, according to the new schedule provided," the organisers said in the earlier statement.
The organisers are yet to announce fresh dates for the commencement of the 2026 regional qualifiers.
