Rattray Park in Kumasi came alive on Christmas Day as music lovers gathered for a thrilling edition of the Obuasi Bitters Luv FM Nite with the Stars, an event marked by glitz, energy, and top-tier performances.
Long before the first act mounted the stage, patrons had filled the park, drawn by anticipation and the promise of live performances from some of Ghana’s most celebrated artistes.

The night opened with Gyakie, whose soft yet powerful vocals gently ushered the audience into the evening. Her performance wrapped the park in melody and emotion, setting the tone for the concert.
“I’m not so well, so I feel I wasn’t able to give my hundred per cent, but it was still on point. They were happy to see me, and I was happy to see them, too. Kumasi is always home,” she said.

Highlife icon Ofori Amponsah followed, instantly shifting the atmosphere with his timeless sound. Delivering classics such as Cinderella and Emmanuella, he turned Rattray Park into a massive sing-along, affirming the enduring appeal of his music.
“I am always happy to come to Kumasi. They are the ones who accepted my music and made me Ofori Amponsah,” he said.

Energy surged when Kwabena Kwabena, popularly known as the ladies’ man, took the stage. His lively and engaging performance drew loud cheers as he served hit after hit, including the popular heartbreak song Aso.

“I get my energy from the fans. When the fans are happy, you’re also happy. And it’s always nice to be here in Oseikrom,” he said.
Kofi Kinaata, the storyteller, then took over with a set that resonated deeply with the audience. Blending message and melody, he connected effortlessly with fans while commanding the stage with calm confidence.

“Me coming here on the 25th of December is like a ritual I do every year. Kumasi has been very supportive, even though my music is in Fante,” Kinaata said.
As the night progressed, legendary musician Kojo Antwi delivered a soulful performance that stirred nostalgia and reminded patrons of the richness of Ghana’s musical heritage.

The concert peaked with a vibrant closing performance by KiDi, affectionately known as “Gyal Dem Sugar”. His smooth vocals and energetic delivery had the crowd dancing and singing along until the final note.
By the end of the night, patrons agreed the event had once again delivered.
“I couldn’t make it last year, but I was here the first two previous years. I feel they’ve done even better this year. I’m loving it here,” one patron said.

Another described the concert as a staple on Kumasi’s entertainment calendar.
“This has been an annual show, and it has come to stay. Everyone should start saving up to make it to 2026,” the patron said.
The Obuasi Bitters Luv FM Nite with the Stars was organised by Obuasi Bitters in partnership with Luv 99.5 FM and Nhyira 104.5 FM.
Sponsors included Verna Mineral Water, Rush Energy Drink, Bigoo Drinks produced by Twellium Ghana, and DoorMasters.
