One more body has been found at the June 3 fire and flood disaster zone, two months after the disaster struck.
The decomposed body of the man was found Monday after residents complained of foul smell that emanated from the Bediako Brothers house, where a Pharmacy is sited.
The residents went into the shop, found the body of the man and quickly alerted the City Authorities, Joy News' Kwetey Nartey reported.
The AMA officials fumigate the area before collecting the decomposed body.
An official of AMA said the body is at an advanced stage of decomposition and has to be buried immediately without delay.
He suspects more bodies could be found in the burnt shop as the place is dark.
Over 150 people died on June 3 following torrential rains caused a heart-wrenching flooding and fire disaster.
Three days of national mourning was declared by the president in honour of the memory of the people who died.
A committee was constituted to investigate the cause of the disaster. The Justice Douse committee released its findings last week, blaming the disaster on the flood, displacement of fuel at the Goil Filling station and a lit cigarette by one Seth Kwesi Ofosu.
The report said 154 people died with the same number of people sustaining varying degrees of injuries but the number is likely to increase given the new body that has been found.
"Five houses including the Goil Filling Station suffered various degrees of damage as a result of the fire." The properties are valued at 1,658,847.00.
The committee is recommending dredging and desilting of the Odaw river and its tributaries as well as the creation of a sanitation police force.
