The Oti Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Foster Dzre, has confirmed that the 11-year-old boy who was operating the boat that capsized on the Volta Lake, claiming 15 lives, has also died.

Mr Dzre disclosed this during an interview on The Pulse, where he provided updates on the tragic incident.
"As I speak to you, the 11-year-old boy is not alive; he also died," he disclosed.
The fatal incident, which has plunged the affected communities into mourning, has once again drawn attention to safety lapses and the dangers of unregulated transportation on inland waterways.

Meanwhile, a joint team of maritime inspectors and officers from the Ghana Navy has been deployed to Kete Krachi in the Oti region to assist the Police and other agencies in investigating the accident.
