The third edition of the Super Hero Kids Karate Championship was successfully held at the Aviation Social Center on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Over a hundred participants took part in the one-day event, which gave young talents the opportunity to exhibit their skills and learn self-protection techniques.
The male and female participants, aged 6 to 22, were divided into various categories, with each category producing a champion and two additional podium finishers.
The young karatekas thrilled the patrons with their impressive displays of intricate movements and punches.
The top three finishers in each category were awarded medals, while all participants walked away with certificates of participation.

Kensei Kai Dojo, Kokusai Karate Organization of Ghana, and Place Trinity Shotokan Karate finished first, second, and third, respectively, as the overall best clubs, taking home giant trophies.
Kensei Kai Dojo also emerged as the winners of the Team Kumite.

Speaking to Joy Sports after the championship, lead organizer Samuel Obeng said the target is to make the competition a regional event in the coming years.
“We the organizers basically we're trying to augment the efforts of the Ghana Karate-do Federation. You know, they can't do it alone. Individuals have to help in any way they can. And what we're trying to do is start these competitions.
“Currently, we do it once a year. Hopefully, it will increase to twice or thrice a year, which means every quarter. The aim and objective are to grow the talent, grow the level of skill, and grow the level of play.
“Right now, we're doing it nationally, but with time, we hope to take it out to West Africa or even Africa. It's all to increase the standards so that at international events like the African Games and the like, we can also come home with some medals.”
