Ghana’s Parliament has come up for praise for taking a common position to outlaw activities of LGBTQI+ practitioners and promoters in the country.
The Spokesman and other bishops of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star who expressed their joy in the progress so far towards passing legislation to affirm the country’s rejection of the practice, said they are aware the process is yet to be consummated, however they are sure the right thing will be done, given the resolve of both sides of the house against the LGBTQI+.
BCS Spokesman Amah Williams and the other Bishops who addressed a press conference during the annual retreat of the BCS College of Bishops in Accra as part of activities marking the tour to West Africa of the Dean, BCS College of Bishops, called LGBTQI+ as ‘satanic’ and ‘diabolical’, and said it seeks to destroy the natural order of marriage.

“Recall that Ghana is the first country in black sub-Saharan Africa to shake off the manacles of colonial rule, inspiring liberation struggles around the continent. Ghana has been hugely blessed by God and divinely position to take the lead in African renaissance and the restoration of African values. It was the Holy Spirit who guided the adoption of the black star as the national symbol of Ghana and the imprinting of the symbol O.O.O. which is the divine insignia of the new name of God, Olumba Obu on the Black Star Square here in Accra. These are spiritual realities that points to the fact that the people of Ghana must take the lead in embracing Brotherhood of the Cross and Star and re-establish the prime place of Africa in global affairs for Ghana is God's own nation and Ghanaians are His chosen people.
“It is on this note that we congratulate Ghana's Assembly and Government on that landmark decision to reject the satanic and diabolical ideology which seeks to destroy the natural order of marriage in the name LGBTQ rights. Jehovah God with His Christ has come to return mankind and creation back to the Garden of Eden wherein righteousness, holiness and purity is the order of existence, therefore, Ghana's rejection of the evil imposition from the West, is in line with the teachings of Leader Olumba Obu and has brought Ghana and her people manifold blessings and grace from the Living God,” said Amah Williams.
He said God who is the creator of life gave man the free will to choose, however, He also provided a guide, including consequences for every choice.

"God is a loving God, He doesn’t want us to perish, and every discerning man knows that what the West are trying to impose on the rest of societies is anti, it has no place even in our traditional setting, it also has no place in the laws of God. God established marriage between man and woman, therefore our final word is that the entire human race should rise up because this is what destroyed the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah."
Other Bishops who contributed to the subject maintained that God will bring all deeds into judgment, and called on all not to be ignorant of the devices of the devil, referencing the Bible from Romans 1:16-32.
Safe for minor amendments, The Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, 2021, is currently in its final phase before Parliament, without a single voice objecting to its passage.
When passed, it will provide for proper human sexual rights and Ghanaian family values; proscribe LGBTQ+ and related activities; proscribe propaganda of, advocacy for or promotion of LGBTQ+ and related activities; provide for the protection of and support for children and persons who are victims or accused of LGBT+ and related activities
