Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has expressed his confidence in forging a closer partnership with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to strengthen Ghana’s economic resilience and accelerate sustainable, inclusive growth.
Dr. Adam stressed that this collaboration with the IMF holds the potential to pave the way for a more prosperous future for all Ghanaians.
Dr. Adam's comments come following the recent visit of IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva to Ghana, signalling a significant opportunity for dialogue and cooperation between the country and the IMF.
Through this visit, both parties aim to foster mutual understanding and explore avenues for collaboration.
Taking to his social media platform, Finance Minister Dr Adam expressed his anticipation for bilateral discussions and reinforced collaboration aimed at enhancing Ghana’s economic resilience and fostering sustainable, inclusive growth.
He reiterated his unwavering commitment to securing a brighter future for the people of Ghana through concerted efforts and strategic partnerships.

During her visit, Kristalina Georgieva is slated to participate in bilateral discussions with prominent figures, including President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Finance Minister Mohammed Amin Adam, Bank of Ghana Governor Dr Ernest Addison, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Ghana.
These engagements aim to foster dialogue and cooperation between Ghana and the IMF on economic matters.
Accompanying the IMF boss are the Mission Chief for Ghana, Stephane Roudet, Director of the Africa Department, Abebe Selassie, and other staff from the Fund.
Their presence underscores the importance of the discussions and highlights the collaborative efforts between Ghana and the IMF to address economic challenges and promote sustainable development.
Additionally, on Monday, March 18, 2024, Kristalina Georgieva will host a conference focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This conference provides an opportunity to explore innovative approaches and technologies that can contribute to economic growth and development in Ghana and across the continent.
