Passenger arrivals at the Accra International Airport declined marginally by 1.8% in year-on-year terms to 96,412 in March 2026.
This was down from 98,146 arrivals recorded a year ago.
According to the May 2026 Monetary Policy Report, passenger arrivals on a month-on-month basis remained largely unchanged from the 96,494 arrivals recorded in the previous month.
Cumulatively, for the first quarter of 2026, there were 302,993 arrivals recorded at the international airport and the land borders.
This is compared with 295,415 for the corresponding period in 2025, representing a growth of 2.6%.
Transport Sector Activities
Meanwhile, transport sector activities, gauged by new vehicle registrations by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), improved by 61.5% to 32,458 in March 2026, from 20,103 vehicles registered during the corresponding period of 2025.
Cumulatively, vehicles registered by the DVLA within the first quarter of 2026 increased by 47.7% to 104,401 from 70,692 recorded a year ago.
