Pentecost University College (PUC) in Accra, has held its seventh matriculation at which 825 students were admitted to pursue courses in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Business Information System. A former principal of the Pentecost Bible College, now PUC, Apostle Michael M. Kopah, in an address, advised the students not to use mobile phones during lectures. He said such attitude by some of the students affected their academic work and did not help in promoting education delivery in the country. Mr. Kopah further advised the students to endeavour to pursue what was best in their academic pursuit so as to prepare themselves adequately towards nation-building. The Rector of the university, Dr. Peter Ohene Kyei, urged the students to shun bad company in order to achieve academic excellence. "Make friends while you are here, but remember that bad company corrupts morals. "Watch and pick friends who will influence you positively, and beware of those who will lead you down the hill," he told the students. Dr. Kyei said the university management had created a mentoring and tutorial climate for the resolution of academic, social and personal problems. "I will, therefore, urge you to take full advantage of this opportunity to help you in your stay on the PUC campus. Through the monitoring and tutorial programmes, you can acquire skills to realise your God-given potentials fully," he said. Dr. Kyei said the school was committed to producing Christian leaders who would play prominent roles in building the nation. Source: Ghanaian Times
