A Police Yutong bus with registration number GP 417 has crushed a motorcyclist with an unknown registration number to death.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday at the Tesano Zongo traffic intersection in Accra.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred due to the negligence of the police bus driver.
They alleged that the driver had swerved into the opposite lane in an attempt to bypass traffic, resulting in the fatal collision with the motorcyclist.
In a statement issued by the Police on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, it said that they have begun investigations into the fatal motor accident.
The Police reported that the motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending medical officer.
“The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has spoken with the family to express his condolences on behalf of the Ghana Police Service and assured them of a thorough investigation into the incident,” the statement read.
