Board Chairman of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) Prof Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi says all procurements contracts executed in the absence of the board would be looked at.
According to the Chairman, the move is to ensure that the laid down procedures were followed through.
Prof Akumfi also observed that the board will examine the facts of the contracts and ensure the necessary ratifications are done.
"There’s also in the act, a provision on ratification processes gone through by the entities and so on. So we have to examine the facts if some decisions were taken in the absence of the board, you look at the records and you do that, "he added
The board chair further explained government institutions in breach of the law would be made to go through the processes again.
"You then get back to the entities and you may have to go through the process but we are yet to cite an example yet”.
Commenting on the procurement of the controversial Sputnik V vaccine, Prof Ameyaw Akumfi noted that the board will examine the facts of the contracts and take the appropriate decision if needed.
“Remember there was no board. But we are looking at it to ensure it’s ratified," he added.
