A non-governmental organization, Proffer Aid International Foundation has donated relief items to the people of Ahele Asuaba in the Domeabra-Obom constituency.

The move forms part of the foundation’s Project Hope programme geared towards alleviating the plight of the less privileged in hard-to-reach areas in Ghana.

The items include bags of rice, cooking oil, cans of tomato paste, cartons of non-alcoholic beverages and drinking water, among others.

The items were received by traditional leaders of the town in the company of the residents at an event to distribute the products with support from Fruit Flunt Natural Drink and Oware Fruits on Sunday, August 16, 2020.

Spokesperson of the group, Sedrick Robert Zu told the gathering that as a health NGO, the Proffer Aid International Foundation found it necessary to visit the community with the gesture because of the hardships faced by a section of the populace.

He expressed hope that the move will go a long way to improve the lives of residents in these times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking on behalf of the paramount chief, Youth Chief of the area, Oblahi Mantse, Alex Nii Ahele explained that the donation executed under the Project Hope Covid-19 outreach initiative was received in good faith.

The Sustainable Development Goals 3 enumerates the need to ensure healthy lives and the promotion of wellbeing for all at all ages by the year 2030.

Against this backdrop, Proffer Aid International Foundation communicated its intention to build a health centre in the locality with the special focus on women and children.

“We have supported many communities with food supplies among others. But this time we want to build a health facility that will cater for the needs of the people especially women and children,” said Robert Zu.

In response to the commitment, the Chief Nii Ahele Maxwell dedicated an acre land to the foundation where the facility would be cited.

“Healthcare has been a matter of concern to us here. We are very happy that you chose this community to initiate such a project,” said Alex Nii Ahele on behalf of the chief.

A beneficiary of the relief items and opinion leader, Rukiya Osmanu prayed the blessing of God into the activities of the Proffer Aid International Foundation.

Manager of Oware Fruits Ltd, Martin Oware also hinted his outfit’s readiness to construct a factory in the area to provide employment for the youth and increase the locality’s economic fortunes as a budding industrial hub.

Proffer Aid International Foundation is open to volunteerism and partnership to alleviate the plights of Ghanaians in line with its vision of achieving absolute healthcare for the citizenry.
