Protech Distribution Ghana, a local ICT firm and Microsoft partner is offering special incentives to support Ghanaian software developers and programmers to compete on the global market.
Opportunities in the emerging information technology industry have not been explored fully because existing infrastructure does not favour local entrepreneurs and IT specialists to invest in software development.
Products and Accounts Manager of Microsoft at Protech Distribution, Vincent N.K. Mante, says in promoting the use of genuine software, the company is interesting in helping build local capacities to grow the Ghanaian software market.
He spoke to Luv Fm at boot camp to introduce Microsoft Office 2010, features and benefits to partners and end–users in Kumasi.
“We have packages for system builders, that is those who but software and hardware separately for assembling purposes, we offer packages to ensure that we as Ghanaian as able to take up the challenge to propel our economic development using IT enhanced products”.
Mr. Mante however observed software piracy and dishonesty on the part of some local developers are challenges mitigating the Ghanaian software market.
