The winners of Joy FM’s Read 100 competition for the month of June have pleaded with Ghanaians especially political leaders, to unite and maintain peace in the country before and after the December elections. The winners; Gabriella Sena Anikpi of Crown and Glory School, Gbawe, Selby Anthony of St Mark Catholic School and Aryee Doreen of the University Basic School were speaking on Joy FM Super Morning Show, hosted by Bernard Saibu, to share their experiences with listeners on Tuesday. Touching on the recent lost of the late President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, the winners shared their condolence with the Mills’ family and Ghanaians, saying; “may his soul rest in perfect peace.” The Read 100 competition is a monthly programme organised by READ 100 Foundation; a not-for-profit organization established to absorb, promote and continue the habit of reading among children. The project began in 2010 as Multimedia’s contribution towards helping instill reading habits in children. It is aired on Joy 99.7 FM and sponsored by Cowbell, Shine Credit Limited, Merchant Bank, and Afariwaa Royal Homes. The title of the book for the month of June was “Follow the Crow” written by Barbara Kimenye. The winners shared some of their memorable experiences with the host and encouraged their fellow children who were not yet a part of the Read 100 competition to actively participate in the competition. They were awarded with prizes from the Cowbell Group of Company for winning the competition for the month.
